Day 1A Step Into History at Bryggen
I started my day by exploring the iconic Bryggen Wharf, the heart of Bergen. These colorful wooden buildings, dating back to the 14th century, are recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Strolling through the narrow streets filled with charming shops and cozy cafes felt like stepping into a different era.
For lunch, I visited Enhjørningen Fiskerestaurant, where the fresh seafood, especially the salmon, was a highlight of my day. After the delicious meal, I rode the Fløibanen Funicular up to Mount Fløyen, where I was greeted by stunning panoramic views of Bergen and its surrounding fjords. The scenery was perfect for a leisurely hike around the trails, giving me time to take in the beauty of the area.
In the evening, I headed back down to explore Fisketorget, Bergen’s bustling Fish Market. Here, I immersed myself in the lively atmosphere and enjoyed even more local seafood delicacies for dinner. The combination of beautiful landscapes, delicious food, and rich history made for an unforgettable first day in Bergen.

Day 2A Fairy Tale Among the Fjords
On my second day in Bergen, I dedicated my time to experiencing the breathtaking beauty of the Norwegian fjords. I booked an early morning fjord tour, excited to explore the renowned Hardangerfjord and Sognefjord, two of the most scenic fjords in the region. As the boat glided through the calm waters, I was captivated by the towering cliffs that seemed to rise endlessly, with waterfalls cascading down the rugged rock faces. The clear, pristine waters reflected the dramatic landscapes around me, creating a surreal and almost dream-like experience. It felt as though I had entered another world, where every turn revealed a new vista more spectacular than the last.
During the cruise, the crew served a simple yet delicious fish soup for lunch, which was the perfect complement to the serene surroundings. The warmth of the soup paired beautifully with the crisp, cool air, adding to the charm of the journey. As I sat back and enjoyed my meal, I found myself completely immersed in the moment, appreciating the peace and grandeur of the fjords. Each scene we passed felt like a postcard brought to life, offering a glimpse into the awe-inspiring natural beauty that Norway is famous for.
Upon returning to Bergen, I made my way to Bryggeloftet & Stuene for dinner, eager to try some of the city’s traditional cuisine. As one of the oldest and most beloved restaurants in Bergen, it offered a cozy atmosphere and an impressive menu of local dishes. I opted for the lamb, which was cooked to perfection and bursting with rich, hearty flavors. It was an unforgettable meal that truly showcased the essence of Norwegian comfort food. To end the day on a quiet note, I took a leisurely walk along the harbor, soaking in the gentle sounds of the water and the peaceful evening ambiance. With the combination of majestic fjord landscapes, exceptional cuisine, and tranquil moments by the water, this day left me with memories that will last a lifetime.
This restaurant served classic Norwegian dishes with a homely feel. The lamb was incredibly tender, and the ambiance made the meal even more enjoyable. However, the service was a bit slow due to the busy atmosphere.

Day 3Culture, Art, and Creative Cuisine
On my third day, I immersed myself in Bergen’s vibrant cultural scene. I began with a visit to the KODE Art Museums, a collection of four museums that feature both Norwegian and international art. Spending time with masterpieces by Edvard Munch and other famous artists made it a highlight of the trip—truly a must-see for art enthusiasts.
For lunch, I tried something unique at Pygmalion Økocafé & Galleri, an organic café known for its fresh and healthy dishes. Feeling refreshed, I made my way to the Fantoft Stave Church, a beautifully restored medieval wooden church hidden within a tranquil forest setting. It was a peaceful escape from the city’s bustle and offered insight into Norway’s architectural heritage.
The evening brought a lively end to the day at Lysverket, a trendy venue that combines art, culture, and gastronomy. I enjoyed creative cocktails while listening to live music, soaking in the artistic ambiance. It was the perfect way to wrap up a day filled with culture and history.
This organic cafe provided a refreshing break from heavy meals, with fresh and healthy options. The atmosphere was relaxed, and the service was friendly, though the portions were on the smaller side.

For my final day, I ventured into Bergen’s beautiful outdoors. I rode the Ulriken643 cable car up to Mount Ulriken, the tallest of Bergen’s seven mountains. The views from the top were even more dramatic than those from Mount Fløyen, and the challenging hiking trails made the experience both invigorating and rewarding.
After a morning of hiking, I enjoyed a hearty meal at Pingvinen, a cozy restaurant famous for its traditional Norwegian comfort food. Their meatballs with mashed potatoes were exactly what I needed to refuel after an active start to the day. It was a comforting and satisfying meal, perfect for such an adventurous day.
In the afternoon, I took a leisurely walk through Bergen’s charming streets, browsing local shops and picking up a few souvenirs.
